Mariam Coleman (I answer to Marydale) sent a message to Greg D. Carmichael Chief Executive Officer of Fifth Third Bancorp Email Address that said:
Good afternoon Mr. Carmichael,
I apologize for reaching out to you this way, however I have tried all other avenues to reach someone who may be able to help. I have reached out to every local branch and also the corporate branch and have not been able to have my issues resolved. When I asked to speak with the president or CEO I was informed that there is only a mailing address and there is no phone line to your office.
I have had to dispute several charges on a credit card.
In October I spoke to Mr. Brooke B. Smith (Frankfort KY) about a alert to my credit card. I had made reservations for a work related trip to Arlington, VA. He assured me that this was pending and would not go on my credit card till after my hotel stay in December. I also informed him that the charged looked odd because it was not a pending charge from the Hyatt Hotel at which point he assured me that is was correct and would only hold as a pending charge until the card was actually ran. When I went to check out of the hotel in December; I could not be given a receipt for the bill. Somehow my card number was given to a third party billing service ( the hotel states their system is safe, however I do not give my credit card number to an online billing ) I work in Frankfort, KY for the Department of Medicaid. I decided to stop and speak to Brooke Smith when I received a statement from the hotel that I was from Germany and I had concerns that my card may have been hacked. I have disputed several charges which I now know the interest can and will be taken off. Brooke Smith then encourages me to take out a personal loan to get the 19% interest and debt down till I could get all charges disputed and or paid for by my employer. After working on this for 5 days (which the stress does impact my health) I contacted head quarters in Cincinnati. I spoke to so many people in the credit card department I finally had Mercedes (?) let me speak to her manager. He could only instruct me to walk into another branch and file a complaint, I asked if there was another way, I explained that a bed bound person would not be able to simple walk in. There are times when my diabetes and other health issues keep me from being able to walk. When I pointed this out he soon disconnected the call because he said since I was able to go in a branch previously I should be able to go into another branch.
Sir, I am a type one diabetic for 40 years, asthmatic for 10 years and celiac for 4 years and some days I just can not physically do what he asked me to do.
I repeated asked for a number or email and he said he could not give information outside his department.
He did not ask me why I could not, just assumed I could. I love a challenge, but Kentuckys cold weather greatly impacts my blood sugar and asthma.
So I do not know when I will be able to walk in and file a complaint, and no one knows who to contact regarding the loan that I have never seem go through.
Brooke said it would go in checking and then be applied to the credit card.
Help. Please let me know a number exist to file a complaint when my physical health can and does change from day to day. I have great days and some not so great days.
Brooke may need addition training to understand disputing charges.
Also a refresher course in Disability Accessibility Act for all employees might not hurt.
I hope you have a great Holiday.
Sincerely,
Marydale Coleman R.N., BSN
