Estelle Asch sent a message to Marvin R. Ellison President of J. C. Penney Company Inc.- email address that said:
Dear Mr. Ellison,
I am a long time JCP customer. Also long time JCP Hair Salon customer.
During my Salon visit of December 28, 2017, I placed my Eyeglasses on the counter in front of me, as usual. My prescription eye glasses went missing. While a search proceeded, both my stylist, Adriano, and the Salon Manager, who did not give his name, denied recognizing that I even wear glasses, even though I have been a Salon customer for years. The Manager, not so gently, said that the Salon is not responsible for personal items. If that is the case, then perhaps lockers should be provided for coats, hats, gloves, eyeglasses, etc. Turns out that Adrianos other customer took my glasses, not realizing the glasses were prescription, while I was under the hair dryer. Fortunately, my son was home to pick me up from the Columbia Mall, since I can barely see, let alone drive, without my glasses. I am not happy with how the Salon personnel treated me. They basically called me a liar "I never saw any glasses on you, never saw glasses on counter," etc. I then was asked to pay my bill, even though he was not finished. I paid my bill and managed to make my way out of the Salon and the store. I expected the Salon personnel to at least have some compassion for me and my situation. Not to be talked down to and feel like a fool. I lost a days work due to not having my glasses. I had to leave my car in a Mall parking lot over night, not usually a good idea. I expect I will no longer use the JCP Salon, nor JCP store. I am very disillusioned with JCP. Your personnel could use Customer Service training.
Respectfully,
Estelle Asch
