Dear Sir, I am contacting you because I am very upset by the treatment I – William H Rogers Jr email address

Patrick Thompson sent a message to William H. Rogers, Jr. Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of SunTrust Banks Email Address that said:

Dear Sir,
I am contacting you because I am very upset by the treatment I received in your Prince Georges Plaza, MD branch this morning. I am one of the signers on a commercial account that was opened by me with Suntrust on 6/27/97. The average balance in this account is about $34,000.00. Today I made 2 cash deposits totaling $946.00. I then wanted to cash a check for $58.00 made payable to me and drawn on the same Suntrust account. I was told by the teller that I needed to pay a $7.00 fee to do this at which time I requested to speak with the manager, Ms. Singh. I was told by Ms. Singh that since I did not have a personal account with Suntrust and I did not own the business account I would have to pay the fee because this is the new policy. Even if this is a new policy, I truly believe that the reason you have managers in branches is so that they can look at situations like this and make an assessment on whether a $7 fee should be waived or whether you would prefer a client to close a 20 year old profitable account over $7. To me this is a no brainer. I do not think your manager was even trying to be helpful because I think in a situation like this there is no rationale behind her decision when I had just deposited $946.oo in cash.
I want to thank you in advance for taking the time to address this matter and I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours respectfully,
Patrick Thompson

P.S. I would be happy to provide you with details on the account upon your request
