Rebekah sent a message to Antonio Urcelay Chairman and CEO, Toys R Us, Inc. that said:
Mr. Urcelay,
I am a team member at the Babies R Us store in Roseville, Minnesota. My store had the misfortune of having a fire on Thursday, May 7th. According to my Store Manager, Julie, we are probably out of a job (unless we are able to pick up hours at other stores) for at least 2-3 months. However, there is also a significant possibility of permanent closure. I would just like to voice my opinion and say I have a strong attachment to my store. It's like my second home. I actually love going to work. You may not know it, but you have some of the BEST employees at the Roseville Babies R Us. We not only care about each other, but we care about our customers. Work doesn't feel like work at Roseville BRU. We care about what we do and take pride in it. Time and time again I have seen my coworkers go the extra mile for a customer from finding the perfect shower gift, to getting the essentials for new moms, or even being a "personal shopper" for people with a big list. We know what we are doing and we enjoy doing it! Our location is one of the best in Minnesota and we are the largest BRU available in the Twin Cities/Metro area. I think it would be a huge detriment to the company if we lose our store. Babies R Us is not just about numbers and merchandise, but it's also about customer service and human relations. We get to be a part of the excitement of bringing new life to the world. There is no better job than that! I hope you get a chance to read this email and consider keeping the store open. Thank you for your time.
