Dear Mr Anderson, I am writing this letter out of frustration, I have been a customer of dte for roughly 30 years, my issue is that I was on the shut off protection plan I called in before 2 pm the day my payment was due and paid it thru the automated system, well it didn\'t get processed until the next day so it was apparently late this was over Columbus day weekend, the money was there when I made the payment. Because of the holiday the county foc was a day late to process child support to my checking account, another bill came thru then dte and my dte came back and they kicked me off the plan, fine I was going to go ahead pay the bill and get it taken care of by requesting a 10 day extension on my shutoff so I could get my rent paid first then the electric the following week, I tried calling from work several times I was on hold several time because if high call volume and could not get thru, I tried again Monday same thing, then again I started Tuesday morning , by the my teen daughter who is enrolled in school online called by 10 am to say the power went off, I should not have to take a day off work to make phone calls about things like this, I can\'t afford it! I\'m a single mom who is doing the best I can and everyday is a struggle as it is, so I try calling again several more times the last time before I finally got to talk to a actual person I was on hold for almost 55 min. II told him what had happened, I m not trying to get out of paying my bill I was trying to make an arrangement for the money I owe only for him to now tell me I also have to pay an extra 140.00 for deposit and reconnect fee! Deposit for what , my bill have been late but some times its a choice food,gas for work,or whatever else has to be paid but you dte have always been paid, I never left a bill unpaid, its hard enough just to pay what I owe let alone extra,I was trying to set up something for next week,he says nothing he can do, I asked about removing the deposit and that and putting it on another month, can I pay half and half? No he can\'t do anything I have to pay it all! You can\'t work with me ? Nope can\'t do anything! So my daughter can\'t do school because she does online school, my refrigerator of food I bought to last a week all went bad, so no food now either, we are using candles for light! I am now sitting in a parking lot at mcdonadls sending this email to you for the WiFi because I have no power. Do I complain every time my power went out over all these years and ruined my food ? Did I ask to be paid for it because it was dtes fault? No! I can not pay my bill till thursday when I get paid and if I had been able to get thru I could have set up arrangements while I was at work but I can tstay on the phone all day. A little consideration would have been nice other than no e I can\'t do anything for you
