@directv – Michael White – I called 2 weeks ago to confirm if I was under contract and after being

I called 2 weeks ago to confirm if I was under contract and after being put on hold and transferred to another department I was told I was not. I called today to cancel my service and now they are trying to charge me over $300 for cancelling the account because in June we had an extra room added and unbeknownst to us they say that renewed our 2 yr commitment. Now I am under contract with another company because I made a decision based on information I got from your company and now you are changing the information. The other thing I find interesting is when talking to the rep i was told the new contract is based on the fact that we upgraded our genie(which was done when the the technician came to add the room and said it was so we could get better service) but when I talked to the supervisor it was renewed because we added the new room. Now at no time were we told this was renewing the contract but more importantly you can\'t even agree on what caused the contract to be renewed. Also the arrogance of telling me that because there is no record record record of my call two weeks ago it did not happen. Well sir I can most assuredly tell you it happened and I was told I was not under contract. This is terrible customer service. Again I made a decision based on information that at your company provided and I feel you should stand by what I was told.
