My recent experience with Home Depot, 1000 NE 4 Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale. On November 5, 2018 I purchased an 18000 BTU LG wall A/C. I arranged for my installer to pick up and install the unit since I was told that you do not do wall installations. He picked up the unit with me on November 6. When he subsequently open the box to install the unit we saw that the unit had previously been used. There were rust marks on the bottom of the unit as well as installation caulking on the unit. I then returned to the store to get a NEW unit and have it installed. My installation man originally charged me $100 for pick up and installation but increased his fee to $180 which I paid. The store manager subsequently credited $53.00 back to my VISA card. No apologies were ever given by anyone in management. The individual sales/cashier personnel were very considerate at all times. I have been a Home Depot customer in Ft. Lauderdale for 20+ years but this was my worst experience ever. Original order No. H6372-152374. How was I sold a used unit with caulking and rust stains on the unit???? I tried to call the store manager today but got tired of waiting on line after multiple calls. The credit card reimbursement of $53.00 was less than the additional $80.00 I was charged for his time and effort. I feel that your reimbursement was totally inadequate and your resale of a rusted, used unit as new definitely needs to be corrected. Please let me know what you think.
