Dave Scott sent a message to Satya Nadella that said:

Dear Microsoft,
I am a long time technician with your products but have some reservations about Windows 10 in a business environment. Firstly, there are a couple of bugs that need attention and also some recoding is necessary to make her truly business friendly.

Bug # 1: VPN – In Windows 7, you could create a VPN connection for All Users. This was necessary so that the VPN connection would be accessible from the login screen for remote sites. Windows 10 seems to have thrown this good piece of programming out. There is nowhere to create a VPN connection for All Users and if you force the issue by creating the VPN connection file in ProgramData, it works BUT it stores the credentials for the first person you uses the VPN. Then if the computer is shared by other users, and the next user uses the pc, It connects the VPN of the original user, thus creating a security vulnerability if websites are accessed showing employee’s personal information like pay check stubs and other information. The only way I found to stop the security issue is to set the VPN connection to never store the credentials but this is tiresome for the employees. Would be better to make it like Windows 7 did. The credentials should be stored with the user profile.

Bug # 2: Pagefile.sys on C: drive always created even when you say no and prefer it on another drive instead and no way to permanently delete or control it. Some folks have SSD’s as their C: drive and do not want them degraded or overworked by placing a paging file there.

What business and technicians would like to see in upcoming releases?
Let’s face it, this OS is not tech friendly. Taken away are the easy ways to set up users with “All User” preferences. Even when we find a way, a Windows update seems to always circumvent our workarounds. What we would like to see is Windows 7 functionality for all user configuration when it comes to taskbar, desktop, start menu, default application and default file extensions. The way it is now, the time it takes to set these settings manually for each user is a nightmare, especially when a large number of uses utilize the pc. This must change or Windows 10 will not be a business friendly OS.
I know you are trying to make a one size fits all, but the programming could be scaled to only Enterprise editions. Please help to address these issues and make our lives easier. In its current form, Windows 7 is much more business and technician friendly and I know it’s end of life is January 2020 and I pray these issues are address before that time as I am sure many others do.
Bottom Line, Windows 10 is more User Centric when it should have the ability to be more All User Centric like Windows 7.
