Ashley Calderon sent a message to Robert Iger that said:
Dear Mr. Iger,
My name is Ashley Calderon and I am writing you with a couple different concerns. But first, I would like to paint you a picture of how big of a Disney family we are. I am 26-years-old and I grew up here in Southern California in the city of Irvine. My Grandfather lives off of Katella Ave., which I'm sure you know is also where Disneyland is located. So since I was 5-year-old, my mother used her tax refund every year to buy us Annual Disneyland Passes so that we could go every weekend and on the off hours when it wasn't as crowded.
My father had moved to Orlando, Florida quite a few years ago and got hired by you guys as a Security Guard at Walt Disney World (more specifically, Coronado Springs Resort). He was OVER THE MOON when he got hired on! That's ALL he would talk to me about on the phone was how much he LOVED his job! He even has been awarded the Disney Hero Award, which was signed by YOU! He also has been given a Great Service Fantastic! Card which states, "You demonstrate exemplary service by... your assistance during LULAC + SLUTUS events at the Coronado Springs Resort- Thank You!" when he was recognized by Vern Mcert when Sharon Cardinel was his leader. Then one day, he got let go for leaving his post. No warning write up, no prior write ups, nothing! He went into depression as he was waiting for the date to come up to fight his case for wrongful termination. However he passed away before it ever came, which left me to handle everything. I had to get a hold of someone in the union to tell me who was his rep. (which took WEEKS), FINALLY I got someone in another department who helped me figure out who to contact, anyway, I FINALLY came to the conclusion that Brian Gibbons was his Union Rep. I talked to Brian ONCE, which was him telling me that they had to postpone the date and that he would contact me after the new date to let me know the result. After that initial phone call, he kept dodging my phone calls and I NEVER heard from him again. I FINALLY got in touch with another random person working in another department and they looked it up for me and told me that the request was denied. Of course it was denied with a Union Rep. like that! Who didn't care which way it went at all! And on TOP of him loosing, he didn't even have the curtsy to call me and TELL me!?!?
THEN my family and I all went to Disneyland, back here in California and were eating in Oga's Cantina in Galaxy's Edge. It was my mother, my step-father, me, my daughter, my younger sister (who is 11) and my younger brother (who is 8). My brother and sister both ordered slushies and were drinking them when they both noted that it tasted funny. We tried them and realized that it tasted funny because they were MARGARITA'S! My mom was NOT happy. She made it known to the manager, who at first asked if maybe the adults at the table had ordered Margarita's and they got mixed up with the kids drinks? But when she found out that we DIDN'T order Margaritas, she felt REALLY bad. They came to the conclusion that the frozen margaritas were in the same machine as the children's frozen slushies and the waiter got mixed up and accidentally used the dispenser right NEXT to the slushie dispenser instead, serving them margaritas instead of slushies. This problem can EASILY be avoided again by a simple label over each of the handles. Something that clearly wasn't thought of for some reason...
Thank you for your time,
Ashley Calderon
