Howard Sparks sent a message to William Crenshaw that said:
We're very dismayed with your initiative to give $1 million to Urban League Affiliates. The timing of your press release suggests Publix, it's employees and customers are in some way responsible for the recent murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis policeman. I have previously submitted this concern to your customer care dept. and today received a response by a rep named Carmen. She basically ignored my concerns and restated your intent to capitulate to left wing radicals using Floyd's death as a political tool . As I replied to her email I will tell you the same: If Publix is goes through with this activism extortion, my family and I will no longer patronize Publix. I imagine everyone I know who shops at Publix will feel the same way. Sincerely, Howard Sparks
