Mr. Carlson,
Today my wife spent about an hour trying to cancel our Dish Network account. The reason for canceling is that our reception in our area has abeen horrible for the past couple of years. A year ago Dish updated our equipment and it didn't change a thing. We called and the techs told us what to do and it still didn't help. About a month ago we had a tech come out and he said the trees were blocking the signal and the movement was also causing interuption of the signal. He recommended placing the dish down by the lake, but that is not an option. We have also been experiencing weather interruptions even though we aren't experiencing any bad weather. Bottom line is we are canceling Dish and they told us that we had to pay $100 cancelation fee because we signed a 18 mo. contract. We have been with Dish for 16 years and the only reason we are canceling is that Dish failled to hold up thie\\eir part of the contract. We aren't paying $100 fee and when we asked how to get their equipment back to them they said they didn't want it back because it was out dated.
It's a shame Dish has gone down this road, but that's their choice, not ours.
