On 12-25-15 at 7;00 pm we were at the Applebee's location on I 635 in Mesquite Texas. We waited only a couple of minutes to be seated. The restaurant was not busy. We sat and waited 8 minutes until finally a tall, slender black male server came to the table and asked if someone had taken our drink order. Since no one had, he took the order. A glass of water and cup of coffee. We NEVER saw him again. No one in our section was being waited on. The guy in the booth across from us stopped the manager and asked if they could get some service. The manger stopped the server passing their table and asked if this was her table she said no and he said well it is now, take their order. We waited another 10 minutes and got up to leave. The manager was now standing at the hostess stand and my husband went over and told him we were leaving and why. The manger asked what table we were sitting at and my husband told him the empty table with the menus, but nothing else on the table. The manager didn't offer to seat us in another section or ask what he could do to make our visit better. We left. We understand this was a holiday and there obviously were not enough employees working, but that is the manager's job to staff the restaurant. Maybe next year he should rethink being open on a holiday because it was apparent that people were unhappy with not getting service. We are very disappointed and won't ever go back to this location.
