Mr. Menear,
Long story, will try to be brief. My husband and I purchased December 2016 front entry door and storm door, two patio doors. From then to present there has been MANY issues. From hearing about the store in Bridgeton, MO where we made the purchase, how the install company left them and had to scramble to get another one which made for craziness. The first man that came to install all our doors, made a lot of errors. So many calls were made to the store that it is unreal. Problem with the patio doors, getting those resolved. Crazy! To then have what we thought ALL taken care of, NOT. The patio doors American Cratsman by Anderson, take in water when raining in the track on the fixed door side, INSIDE. Yes, we now know after the fact, this door has two weeping holes to let water drain. A Anderson representative came to check it out. We were told the same by him and that the weather strip will soak up water then the water comes in. Our old slider patio doors never let water in. People we know do not have that problem. In the beginning when purchasing the patio doors and if we were told of this so called way the door does what it is suppose to do and drain water we would not have chose that style. I do not know of anyone who would want water to come inside on the track, not a pea size or huge size. Granted the rain came and did not go over the track, however we do not want these doors. New issue this past week end with in the lower level that patio door had water come in. We had to pull back the carpet, cut the soaked pad, put the fan on it to dry out and the humidifier. We called to let them know of the issue. We had already spoke with a rep from corporate and he did get back with us this past Monday 5-3-17, he said Chris the rep from RFI would be coming to check it out. He did come with three other people. The issue was at the bottom corner of the door there is a shim, water coming in there. I just heard from the person to make an appointment to repair it for next Thursday the 11th. I had told them all the other day after hearing the manager say we would not have to pay for the install but could change out the doors at ur cost of the difference. We realize Home Depot will want to do business and of coarse make that offer. We figure the least that can be done for all the aggravation we have had to put up with is Home Depot make the switch out of patio doors. Would you want water coming inside on the track of your patio doors? I really hope you will get this email after the person getting it first. I am in hopes to hear back as quickly as possible. Thank you in advance for your time and with much hope that you will make this happen for us.
