Aprile Boettcher sent a message to Jane Fraser that said:
Dear Jane,
My husband, Scott Boettcher and I have a serious problem and I\'m requesting your assistance. I\'m an authorized person on this account. Recently Scott, received correspondence from Lee Hilliard that you where cc\'d on. His account reference number is 0771255646. The end result we are requesting is to receive a letter to rescind the unexpected credit report that was recently sent in by Citi. This report has tragically damaged my husbands credit. As arranged, we sent a check for $52,399.46 in, good faith, to clear this very confusing matter. Everything was fine until this week an unexpected credit reporting from Citi - changed the account from status from closed zero balance - with a reopened account that was current (with no lates) to 5 years of consecutive late reports.
Background information: In short, We had recently modified our 1st mortgage through NACA and we were in a modification process in 2010 on our 2nd mortgage with Citimortgage which is at 7.5%. I personally sent in all the requested paperwork and made scores of followup phone calls. I was requested to resend the same info many times (as I was told it was not received) and passed around to many different departments. This runaround went on for many months until one day when I called they no longer had record of us even having an account. We received a very unusual and unofficial piece of mail around this time saying our second had been transferred to Fanny Mae with no company, phone number or address attached. We waited and never received any further correspondence.
Fast forward 5 years - we received a statement from Citimortage a few months ago for upwards of $52,000. Note: This account was showing closed zero balance on Scott\'s credit report.
Scott was on the phone for months this summer trying to negotiate to not loose our house. He was confused as to who even owned our loan at this point. Scott did not option for a modification as 1. That did not go well the first time. 2. We cannot afford the tax penalty that is now attached to a modification. 3. He did not want to risk the possibility of loosing our home. In good faith, Scott went into our retirement account and sent in a payment for the amount requested with the understanding that account, which was previously closed would be reinstated without repercussion. Everything was fine - until this week a report was made from Citi showing 5 years worth of 30 day late reports on Scott\'s credit. We are in our mid-50\'s. This will negatively impact employment and basically every aspect of our life. This is a very terrible blow and unexpected result as my husband believed that his account would be reinstated without incident.
At this point My husbands mental and physical health has declined greatly over this. I\'m very concerned for him.
We have a family that we have raised in this home and now we have a granddaughter that lives and depends on us. My husband is an honest, hardworking man. He married me many years ago and took on my two young children (one with challenges) he has raised them along with our son as his own and has been a wonderful father, husband and son as he has been extraordinary in helping his mother through a hard time over the last 4 years. He has sacrificed everything for his family. I feel strongly to mention this and he deserves, on many levels, to not be penalized in this manner.
I\'m respectfully requesting, as a courtesy, Citibank send a letter to rescind the last reporting removing all lates that have been reported. Scott had zero lates on his report before he paid up this account and it was reopened.
My husbands email is thebeatles@mac.com and phone number is 310.745.8068. My email is aprile@mac.com and my phone number is 626.264.2626.
Jane, this is a timely matter. I realize you have many matters before you. Please know this is greatly affecting our life and your immediate attention to this matter would be sincerely appreciated
Respectfully,
Aprile Lanza Boettcher
