Karen Dominik sent a message to Rodney McMullen that said:
Hello Mr. McMullen,
I would like to share a wonderful heartfelt story regarding your assistant manager, Tim Dickson, at the Main St. store in Blacksburg, VA.
My dear friend of 40 + years lives there and had contacted the store to order a birthday cake for her husband. Barb has some severe physical disabilities and depends on others to help her including hiring someone to do her grocery shopping. To compound her life, her dear husband is in memory care at a near by facility and because of the virus she has not been able to see him in 6 weeks. Tim happened to answer the phone when she ordered the cake. She did not know he was the assistant manager. After completing the order she asked if it could be delivered. He politely answered no that wasn't something that the store did. Well, all the emotions of years of good times celebrated with her husband bubbled up to the surface and she just sobbed. Tim took heart and told her that he personally would deliver the cake. Tim not only delivered the cake, but thanks to others on his team they added flowers and balloons!! At their cost!!
These are extraordinary and stressful times. Yet, Tim showed grace and humility to honor my friend's request. It meant the world to her. A beautiful act of kindness, one that she will remember for years to come.
I am hoping that you will acknowledge Tim and reward him in some way that he gets back tenfold what he did for Mrs. Bostic.
Respectfully,
Karen Dominik
