Hello boss. My name is nick and I work for you currently in store 6388 north attleboro. Since April 10, 2013 i have acquired a job in the R us company. I was fortunate to get a job at a Babies r us store. Within my 2 years my ability to humanize with guests and my speaking skills have helped me make one of the best impacts on guest service. the scores never lie!
During my period with the company , i became homeless for a period of 2-3 months. I believe a thank you is in order, so thank you for helping me out through that time. It wasnt enough to help me get a bed to sleep in but it was enough to eat while i spent my weeks in my car. This didn't change my working habits one bit at all, as i continued to show up to work daily with my 3 tools belts on...ready to go.
From my fellow employees, to the supervisors and managers all over, i had a feeling the ball was gonna roll. Throughout this career i found myself working in multiple different stores all of which warmly wish for my return in the future. I also was working in 2 different express stores, one in which i walked around the mall in a giraffe suit with the district manager and store manager of 7502 and one where i worked a duration of the day for a black Friday crowd (16+ Hours). From autism walks where i walked with the crowd as Geoffrey, to being a runner during the Christmas season, i came to understand that my hard work WILL pay off. Overall point. I as a simple employee...run a store for you when the store manager is not in that store. As someone whose of a younger generation, it is everyones expectation that i do what im told, shut up and bow to the masses... Ive gotten indecisive guests to travel from New hampshire to Massachusetts to speak to ME about products. if theres a guest issue I go above what anyone in the store would, I decide the markdowns for guests who have problems in the store. I am the one who deals with ALL furniture pickups . I green dot walk sections and put in remedies. I clean my half of the store daily to standards. repeatedly. of course there are employees who do work hard, i can count them on one hand only, and we have 40+. I am the one whose pulling the strings behind the curtains and running back and forth through the stores with never any help.. one half of the store is my responsibility regardless of whose in the building....
I have been sexually harassed, touched inappropriately, been offered meals and notes have been left in my locker by older male ASSISTANT MANAGERS. i still have the note. it was all SWEPT UNDER THE RUG. i have never felt more uncomfortable in my entire life!!
-Overall i could care less about this anymore after 3 months of realizing i have no interest this man no longer acts out toward me. (others though)
I constantly get complaints or here things behind my back from higher ups. ive been offered over 2 dozen jobs , including a husband and wife argue in front of my store manager about offering me a job while on the job in your stores but refused to take them thinking i could be something in this company. I was all wrong .
what am i getting out of this? Every time i drive to this place i want to drive past the plaza and start my new life in the woods somewhere. My happiness is easy to acquire. i ask for nothing return except something fair for me. This isnt fair.
