Dear Mr Greco,
I am writing to lodge a complaint against one of your employees in Newark, Delaware. The store is located I believe, in the 19711 zip code. The employee is a Caucasian male who claimed to be the store manager and looked to be in his mid twenties to early thirties,
I purchased a small wrench to tighten my battery terminal to the battery post on May 25 2020, this past Memorial Day. When I proceeded to tighten the loose terminal it did not work as I had hoped. I went back in the store to ask for help. This manager stepped out with me and saw for himself the wrench was not the right tool. He did not offer any suggestion or help, His disposition was as if I was being a pest. This all happened in a matter of minutes in the store's parking lot.
He went back in the store a little agitated. I decided to return the item rather than deal with his obnoxious attitude. He became very rude and said he was not going to take back the wrench because I had used it. I explained to him the wrench is not useful to me because I did not accomplish what I set out to do. I told him I am disappointed and may never purchase anything else from Advance Auto Parts ever again, and will tell everyone I know to be mindful of doing business with Advance Auto Parts stores. He responded by saying he couldn't care less if I or anyone I might know, should visit his store or any other location for that matter.
The wrench was just $8.99. However, I don't think this manager should be working in any of your stores. He clearly doesn't have the right attitude or temperament relating to customers. I happen to have worked in retail myself and know management does not condone being disrespectful to customers. There is something to be said for simple courtesy when interacting with customers
Respectfully Submitted,
