Dave and Ann Henkel sent a message to Kenneth Chenault that said:

To Stephen Squeri, We are writing to complain about an incident we had with American Express. We were served with papers that your company was going to sue us because they said we owed $9,000. Dave called the phone number on the served paper and even though he told them he never lived in Michigan and was not the Dave Henkel on the paper they said we should get a lawyer. We did get a lawyer and after about 4 months your company said we were not that Dave Henkel. We are senior citizens living on a fixed income. This fiasco has cost us oveer $700 dollars. Now we realize to someone in your position and income level this is nothing but to us it is a lot. We feel American Express should reimburse us for the attorney costs since this was not our fault. Your company evidently googled a Dave Henkel and our address came up never checking to see if we were the said David Henkel. We do not have an American Express account and after this most likely never will. We hope you see where we are coming from. The $700 dollars we are out is a lot of money. We thank you in advance for your consideration to this matter.
