Nancy sent a message to Craig Menear – Chairman, CEO and President of The Home Depot email address that said:
Mr. Menear,

Approx 2 months ago I purchased a custom fence via Home Depot. The fence was finally installed on 23 Aug at my home - 505 Beatty Rd Media, PA 19063 - by Adirondack - I assume an authorized representative of Home Depot. There were major issues with the scheduling although I had proactively called Adirondack to ensure I had a definite date. They never showed up on the 23rd and when I called Tim said there was nothing he could do - but somehow he managed to get a crew out there the afternoon of the 23rd. - So kudos to Tim, the scheduler for making it work.
The crew however, is a different story - the fence is uneven and crooked and looks unsightly. I had to ask them repeatedly to straighten it - the front of the fence was so crooked that the picket top met the adjoining picket in the door (which was straight). I asked them to straighten it - which admittedly was going across a flower bed - and was told they don't trench. I replied that I would trench it for them - but then one of them stood on the fence and pounded it down with a metal rod and told me that was the best he could do. The center of the fence in the front was so crooked that the two sides were cantilevered towards the center. And the long part of the fence undulates - although it is a straight piece of lawn. When asked if they used a level - one of the workman responded "I don't have to take this shit - I am doing you a fucking favor". I kicked him off my property - the other two cleaned up and all I wanted was for them to leave - so I signed their document because I was fearful of what would happen if I pursued the issue.

I work out of town and had to go back that evening, and when I came home this weekend - I realized that the fence is even worse than I thought - not to mention that they also left me an 8 inch deep hole where they had drilled out a posthole in the wrong location.

Mr Menear - I paid Home Depot $2500 for a very small, custom fence. I paid this so that I would have a good quality, straight fence that would enhance my property. What I got was rude and inept installers, potentially escalation based on the anger of the installer, and a completely unacceptable fence project. I would like Home Depot to make this right and have an alternate company come to my home and fix this fence. I will call the police if the installers who did this work return.

Thank you
Nancy
