Leslie sent a message to Rodney McMullen – Chief Executive Officer of The Kroger Co. email address that said:

As you are probably not aware- my mother was injured in December 2015 while grocery shopping at your Ralphs supermarket located in Menifee, CA. While walking in the produce section, she slipped and fell on some soup which had apparently fallen.
My mother sustained an injury to her knee resulting in out-of-pocket expenses, and pain and suffering to this very day. Your stores failure to keep the produce area free from hazards constituted negligence. That negligence was the direct and proximate cause of my moms injury.
At all times related to her injury, My mom was observant and acted as any other shopper would have under the same circumstances.
I want to make one thing clear. My mom never asked for any of this to happen. However, my moms life was unalterably changed that December of 2015.
Because of your stores negligence, she was in acute pain for two weeks and still has pain in her knee to this day. During that time, she was unable to freely move about without suffering excruciating pain and discomfort to her knee, which ruined her visit here in California. She had to pay for x-rays,medications, bandages, and other expenses related to that injury.
As you may not be aware, we are not currently not represented by an attorney. I am writing this letter in good faith, in hope of settling this matter amicably and without the need for litigation.
Please contact me as soon as possible as we have received a letter from Kroger that was unacceptable.
Regards,
Leslie
