Paul Rutter sent a message to Kelly King that said:

Mr. King,
I hope you are well. I've had a lot of friends over the years since graduating from Charlotte Latin in the 70's go on to BB&T, the NC home bank for so many years.

I'm writing you because I have been trying unsuccessfully to be an advocate for the employees of BB&T in eastern NC with a scholarship that will help them... and it costs BB&T or Truist nothing.

I have a new role at the University of Mount Olive in Mt. Olive, NC as the Executive Director for Strategic Partnerships. One aspect of the partnership, an MOU between the bank and us, is tuition scholarships of ten to 30 percent for all of our academic programs.

For eight years I ran our Evening College and I had many bankers come through who could use this scholarship. The scholarship is about year and a half old. Again, there is no cost to BB&T or Truist.

Teh local Regional Director for BB&T/Truist, Neal Benton whom I know from each of serving o the county chamber board has spoken favorably about us.

I know I'm long-winded here. If I can be placed in touch with whomever might be involved with Professional Education for you all, this is truly a win- win partnership.

I know one employee who works in the Regional Acceptance Office in Winterville NC will be ecstatic as she builds her career and her family's future through increased education.

Many thanks,

Dr. Paul Rutter
