Mr. Fairbank, I am a Capital One customer for 31 years. I spend an average of $12,000- every month on my credit card. I frequently go to my local branch to pay my bill in full each month. For a year now, the teller asks for my driver's license to scan into her terminal and my social security # to enter into the terminal which, if I were to give her, would get sent over the internet to the credit depts. main frame and out there for every hacker to set up fake credit accounts. I refuse to do that and am sick and tired of having to argue with the teller as to why I refuse. Let's understand, I am giving her a very large check and she isn't giving me a red cent in return. This ridiculous policy must end and you of all people should be outraged that a data bank of online transactions is being compiled daily for some clever thief to breach and embarrass your bank no less cost you a great deal of money. When I go the third week of December to pay my card in full and if I am asked for ANY ID again, I am going straight to the press and my contacts there to expose this risky policy some fool in your banking sector has put in place that is likely putting millions of personal ID's at risk. Thank you for your attention and good luck........Bob Bonaventure
