David Eastin sent a message to Glen Post that said:
I have been with Century Link for 7 1/2 years. I have sent payments totaling in the thousands of dollars.
About 10 days ago my tv stopped working. I contacted the service department and after a long session with a wonderful lady was informed that my set top-box with no longer working and I needed a new one.
Rather than send a technician to my house to repair the problem, they sent a new set topbox to me and told me to install it.
I connected it to my tv but could not get it activated. Too little information on how to do this was provided.
On October 15, I spent over 4 hours on hold
listening to music. I am convinced that they sent my call to a cloud somewhere in space and forgot I existed.
Today, I called in at 8:30 am and reached a very nice lady who took my activation code and within 10 minutes had my tv working. I was elated.
At approximately 12 noon today my tv went blank. NO PICTURE.
A message appeared on my screen. It read: ERROR: THIS SET TOPBOX IS IN AN INVALID STATUS AND CANNOT BE ADDED TO YOUR ACCOUNT. RETURN THIS SET TOP BOX TO THE DISTRIBUTION CENTER FOR SCREEN AND CLEAN. SELECT ANOTHER SET TOP BOX FOR THIS INSTALLATION.
First of all, I cannot go to my garage and pick
another set top box off a shelf to install.
Secondly, I had to sit for another 2 hours listening to lousy music and never received a response.
Third, This was a brand new set topbox sent to me by your company. Why would it need to be cleaned.
Now I face a weekend with no tv to watch while all your hard working repair employees are enjoying their tvs. NO SERVICE REPAIRS ON WEEKENDS.
Suppose this was Super Bowl weekend and I had 20 friends coming over to watch the game.. Was I supposed to tell them that I have plenty of cards and board games so have a good time..? No way.
So, I want this problem solved in a very timely manner. I want technician at my house on Monday to solve this problem. If not done, I will be seeking a new provider for my internet, phone, and video services.
