Kelly Baer sent a message to Thomas Rutledge that said:

Dear Mr. Rutledge,

I am writing to say I think you are missing a huge opportunity during the Corona virus pandemic. Your technicians are equally heroic as other front line personnel for going into homes at their peril to ensure that all of us who are working from home or home with our families have essential internet and a source of entertainment for ourselves and our kids. They do so without gloves, masks or protective gear whatsoever. I would have expected Charter to run some ads extolling the virtues of these folks who are putting themselves at risk for others. I would hope that they will receive some hazard pay or some kind of recognition for their sacrifice.
I also would like to suggest the company provide them with masks and paper jumpsuits so they can go into peoples homes and show them(the customer) that Charter is concerned for their well being as well as protecting their own employees health. I hope you will consider these things I have written to you because I think you are a thoughtful person and want the best for your employees at such a dangerous time.
Thank you. Kelly
