Dear Ms Chua Sock Koong,

I hope this email finds you well. I would like to bring to your attention on the recent service SingTel have been providing to us customers. I am writing on behalf of Chan Brothers Travel which is a travel agency relying so heavily on travel businesses. The Covid-19 pandemic has directly affected our business very badly. We have taken very painful steps by trimming down our resources and closing down some non-essential department and giving up tenancy on one of the premises that we are occupying. By giving up this premise, we have to terminate some services that we have with SingTel such as Internet service and DEL line. As we did not foresee the coming of the Covid-19 virus, we renewed our contract with Singtel late last year. The problem is if we terminate this contract prematurely, we will be penalized for the early termination which will be $362.62 x 13 months (remaining months) which is approximately about $4714.06 before GST.

I communicated with our SingTel Account Manager to seek her compassion and understanding and to see whether there is anything that she can do to help us during this challenging time either by waiving the penalty charges or at least giving us some discount but sadly, the answer is that she is not able to waive the penalty charges. On giving some discount, she did not reply to me until now.

As a loyal customer of SingTel, it is sad to see that SingTel did not show any compassion and consideration during this difficult time. For your information, we have resisted many attempts by other service providers like Starhub and MyRepublic to convert to their services from SingTel. This is because we have confidence in SingTel services.

Thus, we would appreciate it very much if you could help lighten our burden during this difficult time. The following are the information relating to the service that we subscribe with SingTel.
