Lillian B Raughter sent a message to Jane Fraser that said:
I have been having issues with the application of monies on my account for 3 years.
When I divorced in 2014 I did not realize I had to re homestead my house. I found out the hard way when 2015 taxes were figured in my mortgage.
I not only fixed the error but sent 2 different checks to Citimortgage to cover the difference once the county, water and school districts sent me the corrected refunds.
Apparently they were misapplied. (Applied to the principle instead of the outstanding escrow balance and monthly mortgage amount was never changed)
I have contacted Citimortgage 3 times to fix this. I thought they would get a big fat hint when it said I owed over $3,000 in escrow.
Now looking at my account I see that they applied my monthly mortgage payments to my escrow balance!!!!!!!
My mother-in-law sent $10,000 towards my account 2 weeks ago. I sent a letter stating all outstanding balances including my August mortgage to be paid and THE REST against the principle.
Guess what???? They got it DEAD WRONG AGAIN!!!! I received a letter that said I owe an additional $143 + change ALONG with my September payment!!!!
I was very very clear about this....it's in writing.
I stated the money should be applied so that my September 1st payment should be a clean slate.....up to date.
I was told it is your company's policy. So WHY wasn't it done?
Your website and paperwork ALL state you are open until 10 pm est. THAT IS A LIE
My next move if this error is not corrected immediately I am sending this to the Federal Reserve Commission for investigation. All my paperwork showing this carelessness.
No one should have to be treated like this for 3 years.
I want the application of the $10,000 to cover ALL ALL ALL outstanding balances including AUGUST 1ST PAYMENT and then the REMAINDER goes toward the principle.
DO YOU UNDERSTAND?????
