Aaron Gold sent a message to Michael Corbat that said:
Mr. Corbat,
I hope you are doing well.
I am writing you due to one of your credit card account policies. I have/had a credit card account for Brand Source that is offered through Citi Corp.
I have had the card for a few years now. I was going to make a purchase and found out my account was cancelled. I had a $3000.00 limit on it and did not owe any money. the answer I received was I hadn\'t used my card over a period of time so it was just cancelled.
I have worked very hard to fix my credit and to obtain credit accounts. I was disappointed to find out that your company does not have to inform their customers that the account will be cancelled. I understand that I haven\'t made a purchase in a while and could understand why. But to not inform your customers and to damage someone\'s credit is totally unacceptable.
I am a student and do not have a job. I am already taking a hit on my credit for my account being cancelled. I was told I had to reapply, which I will take another hit to my credit and not be able to get a new account due to not having a job.
How is this practice fair? Why can\'t my account just be reopened? I know it can be done, anything can be done!
I really hope you can resolve this and have it reported to the credit company as a mistake.
Thank you for your time,
Aaron Gold
