Bob Peaslee sent a message to W Craig Jelinek that said:

Dear Mr. Jelinek,

I am writing to you about a disappointing situation my wife and I are in with your Costco located in Alpharetta, GA. We have always had a good experience there and spend thousands of dollars in this location each year. We’ve even purchased a vacation package and garage doors. Not a cheap purchase. Recently, my wife took her car to the auto center to get new tires. $780 worth. When she arrived to pick up her car she noticed that the front bumper was on the curb. After a closer look she noticed that the bumper had been pushed up, scraped and damaged underneath. She immediately went in to get the auto center manager to show him the damage and filled out an incident report. He came out, agreed there was damage done by the tech, who didn’t admit to it until it was addressed. If my wife wouldn’t have noticed no one would have said anything. The tech also admitted to damaging the car. My wife then got the general manager, Gary, to come out to see the damage. He agreed that Costco was at fault and that the wheels looked damaged too and should be replaced. Replaced is what he said not repaired. Key point here. He then signed this on the incident report.
Because of the damage to the bumper my wife took her car to Jim Ellis VW. This car has all original VW parts on it and has been maticulously cared for with no accidents or damage prior to this incident. Upon inspection of the vehicle it was found to have a damaged bumper, undercarriage core support damage and radiator damage. This was disheartening and if you are a car guy you understand. She wanted it done right with original parts not aftermarket or refurbished. She soon received a call from Costco claims. An adjuster came out and was far below what the estimate was. The claims person, Jessie, then said that Costco would not cover the cost of the quote from the shop we took it to. This has been a week now and still no resolution. Costco has claimed 100% responsibility for the damage to the car and the tech admitted he damaged the car. We just want the car fixed right with VW parts.

I appreciate any help you can give to us to resolve this situation quickly and I thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Bob Peaslee
