Good afternoon Mr. Schulman,
This past Mother's Day was a very special day for both of us. We both watched out children achieve an incerdible lifetime accomplishment of earning a degree from Rutgers University. This was one of the most memorable days of my life so far, but it was also suprisingly inspirational, and that is because of you! I honestly didn't know what to espect from your commencement speech, but it was truly inspiring. Listening to your story really made me realize how hard work and determination can truly mold one's life and make all of their dreams come true. I am sure that I not only speak for myself, but to the newl graduates ready to embark on their careers, as well as the audience of friends and family. I don't think that there was one prson in the stadium that was not touched by your words. But for my family it had a much deeper meaning. My husband, Joe, has recently lost his job, through no fault of his own. I'm sure you hear of this scenario: consulting firm comes in and figures out where the company can save money, and that savings doesn't come with a name or family attached to it. My husband's story is similar to your as he wasn't the college bound high school senior. He liked to work with his hands, a jack of all trades, without the certifications to go with it. He worked his way up in his career and then POOF! all gone. he's been out of work for almost 4 months, searching all day long. It's frustrating and scary. He has had a job his entire life starting at the young age of 12 and is finding it difficult to accept. He's a proud man who takes pride in providing for his family, myself and our 3 children. I'm taking a shot at contacting you with the hopes that you will read this and maybe allow me to send you his resume and you would take the time to look it over and see if there's something within your company for him. You probably get emails 24 hours a day, but I'm hoping that this one catches your eyes, hits a heart string, and you consider possibly helping us. I love my husband, he's a good man, and deserves a shot. I got such a wonderful feeling listening to you that day and every word that you said is in my thoughts each day.
