Laura Gaines sent a message to Daniel Schulman that said:

Dear Mr. Schulman,

I have spent several hours this Saturday morning dealing with PayPal. Needless to say I am not happy. My husband's debit card was used for a transaction early this morning with PayPal. When he called to inquire, he was told that I had authorized the transaction. Of course this was not true so we called back again. After the "customer service" rep was completely inappropriate and told me that we should have "managed our card better" I requested to speak with her supervisor. She then informed me that the supervisor couldn't help me. I repeated my request and was put on hold. I finally hung up after waiting 15 minutes.
So now I am having to write to you. My first weekend of rest in many months and I have spent many hours dealing with a bank and PayPal. Your company allowed a stranger to use my name to create an account & fraud my husband out of $257.55. We would have had to cancel our plans for the weekend if we kept all of our finances in one account. Luckily we're smarter than that.
I have not used PayPal in many years. My husband has not had an account, until this morning, in nearly 15 years. He created an account this morning so that he could launch the complaint.
I know that most companies nowadays don't know how to treat their customers. So I shouldn't be surprised when they are so rude and aggravating to non-customers. But as the CEO of PayPal, what do you intend to do about this matter? Is my time completely worthless? We did not ask for this. We did not agree to and accept any online contract with your company. Now our morning has been ruined by your company. So what do you intend to do???

Cordially,
Laura Gaines
