Harry J Titshaw Jr sent a message to Daniel Schulman that said:
Good Afternoon Ms. Keene,
It is grievous to me to have any need whatsoever to inform you of what I would consider a completely unnecessary or acceptable breakdown in Corporate responsibility and ethical behavior. As you can see by the others included I do know the closer and more accountable executive at Paypal is.
In a nutshell I entered into 2 transactions after first contacting PayPal customer service prior to taking any action at all. I was assured that both transactions would get counted as âpurchasesâ and be eligible for the 6 months same as cash promotional offering.
Upon receiving my statement, both were counted as âcash advancesâ. One for $2200 to purchase a Wheaten Terrier puppy from Maddox Kennels, and another $210 purchase from Pulse Nutrional for Immunokoko 500, a nutritional immune system supplement.
I called Customer Service and was told there was nothing to be done, even though I called to verify and confirm how the payments would be treated. Requested escalation to a supervisor even though the front line representative did inform me that there was nothing the supervisor would be able to do. Spoke with the supervisor and was informed that even if she escalated it would not matter. There was no mechanism to change or adjust the status of the payments.
Therein lies the fundamental problem I have. If there is nothing that can be done to correct incorrect advise from a customer service representative then it is in my mind, a corporate failing of ethics and integrity. I knew that both transactions were not the normal authorized merchant invoice type transactions. Realizing that I called in order to determine what the treatment of the payments, as they both were purchases and not cash transactions. I was assured that they would qualify for the promotional treatment.
I was not. Apparently there is no way corporately to override or recode. It is also apparently of no concern that a customer acting with prior assurance is left holding the bag. I would surely have accomplished both by other means had I even an inkling that the transactions might be questionable in state of processing. Is that the type of company you are CEO of? Brian Doubles as President? Dan Schulman as CEO and President of Paypal?
Thank you for any attention you may consider this worthy of.
Best Regards
