Norman sent a message to Chua Sock Koong CEO, SingTel – email address that said:
Dear CEO of Singtel, Ms Chua
I hope this email eventually finds it way to you as otherwise I have no other means voice my concerns.
I have recently been scammed by a stranger to 1700 dollars worth of Singtel services which I have no idea or access to. I was contacted by your verifications officer Ms Magdalene and instructed to pay up if I did not admit what I had done wrong, which was to subscribe to those services. Initially I couldn't even be sure if she was truly an employee from her tone and her calling number. I refused to tell her anything.
Eventually I relented and told her I was instructed to report to the police. She said the police will decide how I can be protected in this matter.
However, the police said they will not be involved in resolving the customers issues as their role is in finding out the culprit who scammed me.
I was also told not to contact Singtel by Ms Yu as they will only listen to the police's advice.
Effectively now I have no one else to contact and there Is no reason for me to use social media as I feel it solves nothing.
I have been a singtel customer for over ten years but I think it will be coming to an end if I feel that I lack the protection needed to stay on.
