Darren sent a message to Mark Fields President and Chief Executive Officer of Ford Motor Company email address that said:
Dear Mark
I am writing to you from Australia in regards to the extremely high wait delivery date for the Ford Mustang in this great country.
This is a plea from the would-to-be owner's of the magnificent Ford Mustang that are subject to 15 18 months wait for a car to Ford USA to see if they could do anything to shorten the delivery period.
I do understand that the manufacturing plant is at its capacity for RHD Mustang and that is understandable. I applaud the hard working employees whom are working on a 6-day shifts/ almost 24 hours a day to build the cars for everyone.
However with Australia being the leading the way in purchasing the Mustang compare to Europe and Asia, shouldn't FORD USA allocate a bit more cars to the Australian market rather than the other continents?
Wouldnât you want to reward the country that is buying the most product from your company?
It is true that FORD AU has the upper hand by having no competition for the Mustang as we do not have the Chevrolet Camaro or Dodge Challenger in our market but it shouldnât mean that they can take advantage of this situation to provide us with virtually no information on the Mustang for all buyers or any update that they are in talk with FORD USA in relation to this issue.
I ordered mine in early August 2015 and was told September 2016 delivery when I signed the contract. When I ask again it is October 2016.
Now it is scheduled to be built in September 2016 with delivery in November/December 2016.
As a customer, I am sure that you too would find this very frustrating.
All we can wish for is for FORD USA to allocate more cars to the Australian market.
Thanks you for taking your time to read this.
Kind regards
Darren
