Deirdre sent a message to Michael O'Leary CEO, Ryanair Email Address that said:
Dear Michael O'Leary I am a shareholder, I am a pensioner, I am very annoyed. Having booked Ryanair to Barcelona I find baggage has been bumped up to ¬25+25. I bring 15kg. only so why do I have to pay â¬50. This nullifies all the suggepstions that you have cheaper fares than others. Aer Lingus was very little dearer for the basic fare and baggage â¬15 + â¬15 so I would have finished up paying less to Aer Lingus overall. Being a shareholder swayed me to book Ryanair but â¬50 for 15kg. Baggage is too much. Methinks Aer Lingus travel might prove a lot sweeter in future.
Incidentally an 18 stone passenger twice my size pays the same fare as I do. With so many large size people on board paying the same fare - the normal size person should not be paying extra for baggage . An 18 stone person therefore gets to bring approx. 4 extra bags FREE in body weight. â¬15 for 15kg. bag Is surely enough for a 9 stone person to pay.
