Dear Micheal,
I flew to lanzarote on 1/11/17 , flight no fr2131.unfortunately a gentleman became very ill 40 minutes into the flight and the cabin crew called for medical assistance .I am a nursing sister on a medical assessment unit at North Manchester general hospital ,I went to their assistance. The gentleman had collapsed when I got to him ,the cabin crew had already placed oxygen on the gentleman and followed my instructions to resuscitate him .They were fantastic despite limited resources and space to work in .I am in no doubt that we saved this mans life , we made an emergency landing at Gatwick and the ambulance crew whisked him off to hospital .I just wanted to let you know how efficient and professional the crew were on that flight .I have since been in touch with our patient and he is doing well , medical staff did confirm that if we had not acted as promptly as we did our patient would most certainly have died .Although we didnt actually get on our holiday for another twelve hours ,small price to pay for a mans life .Please pass on my comments to the crew concerned they were great .
Yours Janet maclaren
