Alan sent a message to Ronald D. Boire Chief Executive Officer of Barnes Noble, Inc. Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. Boire,
After my recent airline flight my Nook device, which may earn a place next to the 8 track player, has been useless since it cannot be upgraded to current standards for file transfer in airlines wifi systems. Most notably Southwest.
The best your company has done is a $50 trade in on a device that cost me of over $300 plus leather case and accessories.
Let me know if you have any good idea what to do with this... Especially since you discontinued the app store, Don't discount nook books, and don't seem to care much for your customers.
I urge you to rethink this situation, and grow a pair, so that your Bankruptcy filing will be done after Sports Authority.
Perhaps you are too busy working your retirement to manage effectively. I bought a Nook color for my daughter too, and just replaced that with an HP convertible tablet PC.
I guess you understand why I am an Amazon Prime customer as well.
Thank you for making your corporate decision (to abandon your nook platform) my problem.
Should you ever want to learn about customer service and loyalty, let me know. My grandmother used to say "this fish stinks from the head".
The Nooks will (hopefully) die soon, so I can replace them with working technology from a company that cares about their customers.
With regrets,
Alan
