Lyle sent a message to Stephen Burke CEO, NBCUniversal, Inc. – email address that said:
Dear Mr. Burke,
As a long-time supporter of NBC programming, particularly the news division, I am writing to you to implore you to not bring Donald Trump back to the network after he loses the election. The consequences of his behavior during the election and particularly, the leaked Access Hollywood video doomed Billy and while I'm sure the ratings bump of having the Donald back on the network, you must assign the same standard of morality to Mr Trump as you did to Mr. Bush.
I sense that you will have a significant back lash if you bring Donald back, all of which you can brush off, but really? I ask that you and the brass at NBC take a public stance as to why Donald is not coming back to the network. This will not backfire on you, as many of your news-celeb departures have. Assume your viewing audience is intelligent and not looking for a Fox-esque experience from NBC.
I trust that you will do the right thing and your stockholders will not penalize the decision. Please don't stoop, it's unbecoming.
Sincerely,
Lyle
