Dear Mr. Carmichael:

As you will see, I am a small customer with Fifth Third. I am sure you do not like me. My income is social security which is deposited to Fifth Third Bank every 2nd Wednesday of each month. What I have confirmed is that Fifth Third is not interested in small accounts. They have reps there that talk to you in a demeaning manner in other words telling you we do not want you. But, at the same time, the Bank do not need to gouge money out of small accounts just to get them to close their account. My account became overdrawn when I had a balance of $15.00 as per the automated machine. I am aware that these banks will explain how they arrive at an amount in which a layman do not understand so I will start with the $15 balance that was in the account. I overdrew here at the $15 I had in the account which effectuated a negative of $90 plus. After that negative of 90 dollars, I was told that 4 items came in wherein I was charged 37 dollars per item. I was charged $37 for $1; $37 for 2.68; $37 for 4.72; and $37 dollars for $6.04. That is totally dishonest, this is theft. How unfortunate that 4 items came in at such a time. I am of the opinion that these people who post items to accounts, hold back posting them so they can scam these fees out of a persons account. Chase Bank was doing the same thing and I closed the account there only to find out that Fifth Third does it too. This is not the law of the land. This is a scheme banks devise in order to make money I would assume. I am a 68 year old retired legal secretary and this is my only source of income. How can you possibly charge me all those fees and then tell me I am $285 overdrawn. The explanation given was to blame the merchants for not getting back to the bank in a timely manner. Your intervention here will be appreciated which would be removing these fees immediately except for the 100 that I borrowed. You a bank aint you. I borrowed the 100 dollars. Thank you.
