Julie sent a message to Greg D. Carmichael – Chief Executive Officer of Fifth Third Bancorp – Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. Carmichael,
My name is Julie and I am a customer of Fifth Third Bank. Today, I went to the branch at 1212 W. Kemper Road in Cincinnati to have something notarized, and this is what happened...
I walked in and sat down, making sure that all the emplyees in the offices could see me. In one office was an employee talking with a customer, in the office next to him was another employee who after 5 minutes, got up, walked past me and out the door, and in another office were 3 employees standing and talking to each other. After about 10 minutes, two of those employees walked out of that office and went into their own offices, walking past me sitting there. All three were now in their own offices looking at me, yet no one acknowledged me in any one. No one put up a finger to say "one moment", no one came out to say "someone will be with you soon"... just nothing. Finally, Dan Markarian came out of his office and said is there something I can help you with? I explained that I needed something notarized and followed him into his office. I also told him, very nicely, that I thought their customer service was not so great. His reply was, well we've been busy and the phones keep ringing. The entire time that I sat and watched all of them, no one was ever on the phone. But, I didn't say anything. He notarized my form and said "sorry about your wait"
Granted, I am a very small customer, with about $34,000 in my accounts, but none of them knew that... what if I was an important customer?
I also have accounst at PNC and Chase, and have never had this type of experience at either.
Im sure this won't matter to you, but I just thought that you should know what a poor customer experience I had today.
Thank you,
Julie
