Michelle sent a message to Michael L. Corbat CEO, Citigroup Inc. – email address that said:
Dear Mr. Corbat
There have been some concerns brought to our attention lately about a check from our company. I am the daily accountant for A to Z Rental for Eden Prairie Rental in Eden Prairie, MN. We have a rental company which rents equipment to construction companies as well as landscapers and homeowners. http://www.a-zrental.com/ The company has a business fleet gas account with the Holiday company. We send checks to them to pay for the bill. We sent check number 37349 to them on 3/22/2016 for $520.65. It was deposited by Citibank without any endorsement from Holiday on 3/27/2016. The owner to A to Z Rental has been working with Anchor Bank to get in contact with Citibank to find out where the check was deposited and if there was a camera to see if we could find out who did this. The people at Citibank were less than helpful. The people at Citibank did not help Anchor Bank at all. We have the check, which is attached as well as two that are endorsed by Holiday. We are asking for Citibank help to find out where, who the check was deposited by, and how the person was able to deposit a check made out to Holiday gas station. Anchor Bank is in the process of starting a fraudulent investigation on the check. We are willing to help out Citibank anyway we can.
Since this morning when I started this email, I did some investigating and found out some information about the routing number on the back of the check. It was cashed in New Jersey which is a long way from Minnesota.
Thank you for your time,
Michelle
