Timothy A. Grove sent a message to Michael L. Corbat CEO, Citigroup Inc. email address that said:
Dear Mr. Corbat,
As a holder of a Citi credit card for 20 years now, I am writing to express my outrage at your decision to cut off banking services to sellers of guns and related products unless they conform to your "best practice guidelines", the most disturbing of which is a prohibition on selling "high capacity" magazines.
Since you provide no specifics as to what constitutes a "high capacity magazine", I can only surmise that your "best practices" are meant to target all gun sellers, since they all sell magazines which you will no doubt designate "high capacity", in spite of the fact that they are a perfectly legal product being sold by perfectly legitimate companies.
I pay Citi for banking services, not to fund leftist attacks on my Second Amendment rights, and I further object to my tax dollars having been used to bail out a company that is now acting on behalf of anti-gun liberals. I can only imagine what would happen if a major bank like Citi decided to blacklist abortion clinics and cut off banking services to them.
For my part, I intend to stop using my Citi credit card and open a new credit card with a bank that honors my Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. I will also never use Citi for any banking services ever again. However, I will keep my Citi credit card open with a zero balance and use it only for occasional donations to the National Rifle Association (my wife and I are life members), just to keep it from being closed due to inactivity. Unless of course you intend to blacklist the NRA, too.
Thank you for your attention.
Sincerely;
Timothy A. Grove
