Donna sent a message to Brian C. Cornell Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Target Corporation - email address that said:
Dear Mr. Cornell,
I had shopped at Target for many years. I miss going in there to shop--it is such a cool place, but I TOO, stand my ground! I read that you are going to spend money trying to figure out how peoples shopping habits have changed, for there is a slump in sales and profits. YOU KNOW that has nothing to do with it. People just have quit going to Target. I havent gone in the store since your strange bathroom ideas. You care more about the weirdo (yes, the world is full of weirdos who like to go into womens bathrooms and see what they can see). It happened long before the transgender bathroom issue came up. But NOW, they are encouraged to do so. What about the little girls who see a man in the ladies bathroom? WHo do you think is more traumatized--the little girl or the adult male who thinks--or pretends to think-- he is a female? The transgender always has the option of going into the family bathroom. Our store here had one of those. I just cant believe how much common sense is lacking here. ANd HOW long does it take to go to the restroom anyway? And arent the doors closed to the stalls? So WHAT issue, exactly--do the transgender people have? What is the criteria of using the bathroom that doesnt match your sex? You THINK you are the opposite sex? Anyway, the whole issue is insane! THere are far more important issues out there--like people dying of serious diseases, and poverty, and crimes committed that hurt and kill people. How selfish those are who have FAR too much time on their hands that they have to think about what everyone can do for ME, ME, ME!!!! I will never shop at Target again, unless you reverse your stand. And it sounds like you wont. SO you will be one of those stores who finally have to close store after store. I only wish I could get through to you that you opened a huge can of worms in this issue. In the grand scheme of life, which bathroom you use is a speck in the sand. Worry about more important issues, get outside of yourself and do what you can to help the human race survive!!!! I pray for common sense, wisdom and right to prevail every day. I pray for you, too, Brian.
