Cheryl Despot sent a message to Marvin R. Ellison - President of J. C. Penney Company Inc.- email address that said:
Dear Mr. Ellison,
I would like to make you aware of some situations at JCPenney 2486. I am a former associate and above all do not like to complain. Let me give you my experiences lately. Recently I was shopping and could not find anyone to wait on me so I came home and ordered on the computer. On Thursday, July 20th I was shopping and again no one to help. I went to the drapery department because what I wanted to order was not available on the web. There was a sign stating to take my merchandise to the home department. Again, no one to make an order, I needed to order blinds. Today, July 22nd I phoned into the store and did not get any answer at the department after several tries. Finally I spoke to an associate in .com and they said that no one would be in until 4. They werent sure if the associate knew how to do a special order for blinds but I could try. If not, the associate who would know would not be in until Monday. Is this what you call customer service? I have worked in that store for almost 37 years and never have encountered things that go on in that store as they do now! We would have NEVER left a department unattended. I have yet to see the store manager working the floor while shopping or I would have asked to speak with her. Associates are constantly complaining that they dont have enough help. I have talked with many friends and they have expressed the same dissatisfaction as I have experienced and are taking their business elsewhere. I would appreciate you addressing this situation. Thank you and have a great day!
