Gayle Bischel sent a message to Marvin R. Ellison - President of J. C. Penney Company Inc.- email address that said:
Dear Mr. Ellison,
Just ran across an article today that told of an ad JCPenney had plans to release for Fathers Day in 2012 that features two gay ‘dads. God made males and females for a reason and it is all in His plan, AND HE DOESNT MAKE MISTAKES!! For those who have difficulty with this, there is help and healing out there to find Gods true plan for them. Retail advertising is an odd place to be pushing homosexuality, as most of your buyers are either males or females and oriented appropriately according to Gods plan. I urge you not to make a mistake like this. My husband and I, and our family of 10 children will not be shopping at JCPenney unless I hear that JCPenney had decided not to continue in this type of advertising. My daughter recently bought a wristwatch from JCPenney. It will be our last purchase.
I should have learned my lesson, as over the last few years I have taken note of JCPenney advertising in general. I have found that women are often depicted with a very provocative nature. This does no good for our already porn alfflicted society. I have thought that I should not patronize your stores because of the advertising. Now after learning of the above mentioned issue our purchasing will cease indefinitely.
May God guide your business endeavors.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Gayle Bischel
