Wernher sent a message to Scott Flanders CEO, Playboy Enterprises, Inc. that said:
Dear Mr. Flanders,
While I understand some of the reasons for changing Playboy, I am extremely disappointed with the end result. The magazine I've loved for 40-odd years has been transformed into a total abomination and reflects what I believe to be a great disservice to your loyal readers. I will be cancelling my subscription forthwith and will be shocked if Playboy survives in its current form.
