Bobette sent a message to Jeffrey F. Harrold – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Auto-Owners Insurance – Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. Harrold,
After seeing your television commercial about one hundred years of customer loyalty (for the hundredth time ) I am forced to e-mail you and state that this is not the case for my boyfriend John, who has been a customer of Auto Owners for over forty years. John was in a motorcycle accident on August 14th, 2014. He did have motorcycle insurance through your company. He suffered a concussion, torn rotor cup in three places, permanent vision reduction in one eye and multiple contusions. He did retain a lawyer and sued the liable party but because John had his own business ( 3D Auto Welding) he could not prove on paper how much loss of business he had and since then, 3D Auto has closed. He was awarded a small settlement this year (2016) and Auto Owners promptly put a lien on it. You are in negotiations with his lawyer right now for medical reimbursement. However, the only one who will make out like a fat rat is the lawyer. Even after all of this, John is STILL a customer of Auto Owners. Now there’s loyalty for you!! I have to then ask “Where’s yours??”
