Dear Mr Hess, I was kind of reluctant to email you this since I was – John B Hess email address

Gary sent a message to John B. Hess – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Hess Corporation – Email Address that said:

Dear Mr Hess,
I was kind of reluctant to email you this since I was threatened by my former employer. I am a former field safety rep for a local Stanely North Dakota oil hauler. On May 14th, 2016 I was dispatched to the SC Nelson H1 which is west of Ray. A driver had over filled his trailer which in turn he had a spill of about 2 gallons that covered an area of about the size of a pick up truck. Once, I arrived in called my supervisor and he and the operations mgr. made the decision for me and the driver to clean the area and dispose of the product. Not being familiar with my companies protocol I asked my supervisor what needed to be done with the product. His reply was "make it disappear." Not feeling comfortable with this I had it arranged to be delivered to a disposal facility called Secure, this is just north of Keene. My driver had an account there so I saw no harm. The following Monday the driver turned in the manifest to the Safety Supervisor, my boss. Later that afternoon I was reprimanded for correctly disposing of the product. The problem with this is it left a paper trail that my company was not happy with. I refused to sign the write and subsequently I was let go for not following proper procedures and being argumentative. Im not sure how Hess corporation feels about spills being dumped on the side of the road...but I wasnt about to do that. Its just plan wrong! My former employer has threatened a law suit if this ever got reported and they lost business due to this. Please, understand this company has great employees but their management is making bad decisions that can affect all of them. If there is any questions feel free to call me anytime.

Gary
