Jarrah sent a message to Andrew House President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc. that said:

Dear Mr. House,

Less than two weeks ago, I started a petition for Sony to save the PlayStation TV microconsole by giving players 100% Vita compatibility. This could be accomplished with a firmware update that enables players to use the Vita handheld itself as the controller.
The number of people who have signed this petition is growing at an exponential rate. And as of today, this petition currently has 147 supporters - last night there were only 91 signatures and 62 the day before that.

Speaking as somebody who has been a PlayStation man for 18 years, I believe it would be most unwise for Sony to discontinue the PlayStation TV microconsole. Without it, gamers would have no way of playing Vita games on their TV.

In September, a player called Mr. Gas hacked the PSTV's whitelist enabling any Vita game to load. Despite some games having compatibility problems due to the PSTVs lack of a gyro and camera, most of the blacklisted games worked perfectly fine with the thumbsticks and PS4 touchpad emulating the Vitas touchscreen and rear touchpad.

Sony could solve the compatibility issues with the PSTV by releasing a firmware update to enable players to use the actual Vita handheld as a controller for the PSTV. Thus for any games heavily dependent on the Vita's camera or motion sensing, those compatibility issues will no longer be an issue.

Please take the time to look at this petition and consider what I am proposing. Allowing 100% Vita compatibility on the PSTV will significantly boost sales and potentially elevate it to being on par with the current generation of home consoles.

I am also proposing that Sony use the Vita handheld as a PS4 equivalent to the Wii U Game Pad, thus allowing Sony to port third party Wii U GamePad dependent titles to PS4; release more PS4/PS3 titles to the PSVita/PSTV, allowing gamers to potentially use the PSTV as a cheaper alternative to PS4; and releasing a UMD player attachment for the Vita and PSTV for physical PSP backwards compatibility.

Of course the #1 priority is 100% Vita compatibility on the PSTV. Again, this can be done by officially removing the blacklist and enabling us to use the Vita handheld as a controller.

Best wishes,
Jarrah
