Elizabeth sent a message to Andrew House President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc. – email address that said:
Dear Mr. House,
My husband bought a new PS4 in January of 2015. In January of 2016 it started suffering from the disc-ejection defect. However, since we were literally days outside of warranty, no one would replace it for us. I spent hours in online chat and no one would escalate me to a manager to discuss further options. Instead, we managed to avoid disc-based games for the system for awhile and often just opted for other consoles. However, this year we got Final Fantasy XV so we decided to try it out. The system was fine for a few weeks but has started ejecting discs again. I find it shameful that Sony won't replace his system despite the defect being known, wide-spread and not caused by any user error. It has rendered the system useless for games on disc and has us wondering whether buying any future Sony systems is worthwhile since we now know that the company refuses to stand by the product or repair known defects, even when they are clear manufacturing and design errors on Sony's part. We have both loved Playstation systems for decades but this will likely be our last purchase. Please feel free to contact me by email
Thank you,
Elizabeth
