Douglas Crandall sent a message to W. Craig Jelinek President and Chief Executive Officer of Costco Wholesale Corporation email address that said:
Dear Mr. Jelinek, We are writing you regarding our Costco Visa Card. We typically spend over $1,000 a month with this card and pay in full. Last month our bill was $1,016.35. We made an error in our input and remitted $1,012.35. For being short $4.00, Citi Bank charged us $9.28 interest. We are outraged that our beloved Costco would allow Citi Bank, in your agreement with them, to charge such interest. In fact, we believe such an unreasonable interest charge to be illegal. We have contacted Citibank and after threatening to destroy their card, have agreed to remove the charge. Our question to you is - what action(s) will you take to stop this practice by Citi Bank?
